herbert, being the moderator of this blog, you should be unbiased. being visited by a President will be a great honor for our town, whatever perception people have on him/her.

Its the same old story florante...everytime someone gets out of power, the next one in power would say he's corrupt (with all those same stories)....and blame it on the old one who's in power

we're not just talking about the highest post here...isnt it that its the same old politicians holding the councilor post (so, what have they been doing?)....

leadership is not just about intelligence or skills only; i agree with you it has to do with passion and dedication also....it has to be a combination of both.
if we've had or we have leaders like that, then probably its not being used or coursed thru the main reason why they are in power. Its being used more on ensuring that they stay in power or they become more powerful.

It's a good thing that herbert has mentioned the particulars as per the news report which has already been long rumored. I had a chance to listen to the camp of Mayor Dindo, and in fairness to him, of course, he is at least entitled to be heard on this, that the alleged debts mentioned (i.e. remittances from the gsis, etc.meralco) that was mentioned were an accumulation of municipal obligations since the time of then Mayor Bayani Ferrera. It may also be remembered that the Meralco payables are the ones that Mayor Dindo has assumed from then Mayor Robert Ferrera. I could still remember that during Mayor Robert's term there would be numerous times that no less than the Municipal Hall will not have electricity due to unpaid bills. I believe, this never happened in Dindo's time. The Presidential Social Fund mentioned, i was told, was personally handed over to Mayor Dindo by the President in one of her 3 visits to Baras. Mayor Dindo never applied, nor requested for it. Dindo was just in office for three years, and i don't personally see how he could have accumulated a 10M debt in just a span of three years, with Baras having a very meager Internal Revenue Allotment and revenue collections, almost 70% of which is eaten up by personal services alone and other statutory obligations. Let us not resort to political sensational journalism, please!!! Oh by the way, please note that the President visited Baras 3 times in a span of 3 years during Dindo's time despite being a small town. One of which is the inauguration of the Baras-Pinugay Road. I have not seen her set her foot in Baras in this administration.

Florante, since you said you saw data and evidences, maybe you can share in this blog the particulars of the supposed 10M debt? And who does Baras owe this 10M from? I think we have the right to know since you mentioned it! O baka naman kwento lang?

On Patrick, Crab & Michael : (My Own Personal View)
I presume we all have same feathers here! Comments we had posted would outdo even the best commentators of the White House. But, I’m not like some bloggers here, kept in our closets, in slumber and still!! I’m sorry but I have to oppose in naming the leaders as idiots because simply, they’re not!! Some might not even have the education and profession we attained, but in running a government, the mere dedication and deep love for our town will be most considered. The leader is given a mandate, and he must repay them by simply serving them with pure honesty and dedicated service.
We had sad experience before of a a leader, who perfectly fit to the highly educated character a Baras leader needed. But, what transpired? That was the dark age of Baras!! Each day of his term was like Friday the 13th to many. Cases were filed, opposing leaders were threatened, finances were mismanaged, there was huge armory in the mayor’s squad, employees were scared, and sadly, millions of pesos were taken from the government. Baras was indebted after his term by a whopping 10M pesos. Baras electorate was betrayed, and fooled by a leader, with your preferred adjectives, INTELLIGENT OR A BETTER ONE.
Baras has a leader now who is highly dedicated to his job. The issues being hurled on his administration are errors done by people around him. Of course, he is to be blamed because it is his command responsibility. So, he must doubly work in cleaning his backyard of pests or this term might be his waterloo. I believe he is doing it now!! Too bad to lose the political splendor he has worked for eons.
And for you guys, I’m proud of you! Of course our comments here are merely expressions while probably taking respites from our tasks. But only guys like you who can spare time to do somme insights on our town will have the same love and dedication to Baras. We might even disagree on a lot of issues, but the mere concern you guys are showing and using some precious minutes will be enough to cite you as Baras lovers. Thanks kabayan and let us remain watchdogs!
