Reper your washing

I have been seeing this sign along JP. Rizal street for some time now. I find nothing wrong with it because the intention to communicate is there Рthat they repair refrigerators, airconditioning units and washing machine. But what is “maski”?

That’s a funny sign!!! That tries to ease down the growing complaints of poor Barasenians. The huge tarpaulin “Baras – First Organic Town”, will soon be in the archive of funny signs in Baras. Makikita mo talaga ang Irony Of Life. Take note, napakaraming varieties pa ang sabi nila. Sana ….

Thanks Patrick!!! Finally, one of A FEW GOOD MEN of Baras voicing out exactly the same sentiments!! You know why I got the psuedo. crab? Your guess I’m sure is perfect! Some people in our town will have that attitude especially people in power!!! Alam mo ba e-mail addy ko? Don’t laugh! c.mentality@…… He .. he .. he .. Tawa na lang tay0….. pero panandalian lang!

  4. Patrick Says:

    thanks crab.. gotcha!

  5. Florante Says:

Nice comments Crab and Patrick!!! Crab, your statement seems to fit in a scene of a reality show. Everything you said are true!! But, according to Madam President, the huge problem is global and the government officials are not to be blamed. I got your point on that organic rice!! Why too much publicity on organic rice, or organic agriculture, when in reality, you can’t see substantial quantity of them? Di ba yan ang point mo? I think the Mayor will make a drastic action on that, and we just need to prolong our patience!!! Wait lang !(the consistent phrase in our txt msgs., di ba?). As to the officials having a c. mentality – Hindi naman lahat! I see the mayor as hard-working, with high level of political will, a booster of morale for our kababayan, at mahal niya talaga ang bayan natin!! I’m sure the mayor will not leave things as they are or it might worsen to an unrepairable state. I don’t see any current leader pa naman to continue his leadership. Sayang naman ang sinimulan!!!

  9. Wanda Says:

Korek ka nga Crab. Ok alias mo ah, Crab? TALANGKA, he he he!!!Marami sa atin niyan!

  11. Michael Says:

I’m still laughing my ass off over this sign. It’s really funny! though I commend this repair man whoever he is, for not letting his short comings keep him from doing his job.

Going back to all the serious comments here about Baras. Comments that are mostly about politicians. I agree on all your sentiments. However, I tend to ponder how come all of you intelligent barasenians (no sarcasm) are just posting here and letting the idiots run your municipal government? I mean, reading from the comments most of you seems to be well educated and skilled professionals. Isn’t about time you guys take over? Its been years that I hear the same names during election. Why dont you guys come out of your closet and start the campaign?

Well generally, I tend to realize that most of the better picked apples are sent for export and let the bad ones remains and rotten.

    I’m not in exemption.

    Just my two cent.

  12. Patrick Says:

    on Michael:
yeah, you’re right.. intelligent however is an insensitive word… “better ones” might be the proper term, those who preferred to stay away for a while and find greener fields while young and able..
they will eventually come back when the time’s right.. they’re not in the closet i supposed but somewhere to gain more skills and understanding to equip themselves with the better plans ahead..
in a meantime, being an observer from a distance might be the best way to plan how to cope up with the never-ending cries of our beloved barasenians…
we dearly love our town especially its people noting that native barasenians seems related to each other by blood..

michael, don’t worry bro.. when the right time comes you’ll gonna see how the better ones fulfill their dreams for the good of all of us..

I presume we all have same feathers here! Comments we had posted would outdo even the best commentators of the White House. But, I’m not like some bloggers here, kept in our closets, in slumber and still!! I’m sorry but I have to oppose in naming the leaders as idiots because simply, they’re not!! Some might not even have the education and profession we attained, but in running a government, the mere dedication and deep love for our town will be most considered. The leader is given a mandate, and he must repay them by simply serving them with pure honesty and dedicated service.
We had sad experience before of a a leader, who perfectly fit to the highly educated character a Baras leader needed. But, what transpired? That was the dark age of Baras!! Each day of his term was like Friday the 13th to many. Cases were filed, opposing leaders were threatened, finances were mismanaged, there was huge armory in the mayor’s squad, employees were scared, and sadly, millions of pesos were taken from the government. Baras was indebted after his term by a whopping 10M pesos. Baras electorate was betrayed, and fooled by a leader, with your preferred adjectives, INTELLIGENT OR A BETTER ONE.
Baras has a leader now who is highly dedicated to his job. The issues being hurled on his administration are errors done by people around him. Of course, he is to be blamed because it is his command responsibility. So, he must doubly work in cleaning his backyard of pests or this term might be his waterloo. I believe he is doing it now!! Too bad to lose the political splendor he has worked for eons.
And for you guys, I’m proud of you! Of course our comments here are merely expressions while probably taking respites from our tasks. But only guys like you who can spare time to do somme insights on our town will have the same love and dedication to Baras. We might even disagree on a lot of issues, but the mere concern you guys are showing and using some precious minutes will be enough to cite you as Baras lovers. Thanks kabayan and let us remain watchdogs!

  14. rogiecardinal Says:

Florante, you sound like a very intelligent person, but sorry to say you lack the necessary tools in the aspect of fairness. You have made accusations which are unsubstantiated, or we may say, things or news which you surely would have heard in discussions filled with political undertones. I believe that your comment is totally uhfair without knowing all the facts. Please be responsible, and show in this blog that supporters of the present mayor are not patronizers of tabloid gossips.

  15. Michael Says:

I’m not really generalizing that our municipal officers are all idiots because that would be a total ignorance. However I’ve seen councilors and even vice mayors through the years (since elementary days bro!) who doesn’t even proved anything of their worth. How can a person govern a city, lead them to a better and rewarding life if they can‚Äôt do it for themselves personally. There are a number of officers who just do it (politicking) for a living.

  16. Florante Says:

Rogie, I was there and data and evidences were present. But, as I said, bloggers will have opposing insights. I will respect your comments bro. Thanks Michael for stressing a point. A point well taken!!! I am resubmitting that comment.

Florante, since you said you saw data and evidences, maybe you can share in this blog the particulars of the supposed 10M debt? And who does Baras owe this 10M from? I think we have the right to know since you mentioned it! O baka naman kwento lang?

  19. herbert Says:

I was wondering if Florante is referring to this: http://www.barasrizal.com/baras-balita/utang-ng-pamahalaang-bayan-p-4m-na-lang/

  20. rogie Says:

It’s a good thing that herbert has mentioned the particulars as per the news report which has already been long rumored. I had a chance to listen to the camp of Mayor Dindo, and in fairness to him, of course, he is at least entitled to be heard on this, that the alleged debts mentioned (i.e. remittances from the gsis, etc.meralco) that was mentioned were an accumulation of municipal obligations since the time of then Mayor Bayani Ferrera. It may also be remembered that the Meralco payables are the ones that Mayor Dindo has assumed from then Mayor Robert Ferrera. I could still remember that during Mayor Robert’s term there would be numerous times that no less than the Municipal Hall will not have electricity due to unpaid bills. I believe, this never happened in Dindo’s time. The Presidential Social Fund mentioned, i was told, was personally handed over to Mayor Dindo by the President in one of her 3 visits to Baras. Mayor Dindo never applied, nor requested for it. Dindo was just in office for three years, and i don’t personally see how he could have accumulated a 10M debt in just a span of three years, with Baras having a very meager Internal Revenue Allotment and revenue collections, almost 70% of which is eaten up by personal services alone and other statutory obligations. Let us not resort to political sensational journalism, please!!! Oh by the way, please note that the President visited Baras 3 times in a span of 3 years during Dindo’s time despite being a small town. One of which is the inauguration of the Baras-Pinugay Road. I have not seen her set her foot in Baras in this administration.

  21. herbert Says:

  22. Maricel Young Says:

Its the same old story florante…everytime someone gets out of power, the next one in power would say he’s corrupt (with all those same stories)….and blame it on the old one who’s in power

we’re not just talking about the highest post here…isnt it that its the same old politicians holding the councilor post (so, what have they been doing?)….

leadership is not just about intelligence or skills only; i agree with you it has to do with passion and dedication also….it has to be a combination of both.
if we’ve had or we have leaders like that, then probably its not being used or coursed thru the main reason why they are in power. Its being used more on ensuring that they stay in power or they become more powerful.

  23. barasubas Says:

herbert, being the moderator of this blog, you should be unbiased. being visited by a President will be a great honor for our town, whatever perception people have on him/her.

  28. Draco Says:

Crab, don’t be so naive? Before you comment on something, youmust have at leat doen some research. You are working your speculations based on assumptions. Would you any idea how expensive organic rice as gainst to the lowly NFA rice? Very few must have cash to by these precious crop. Farmers were once drwn at producing these crops but harvest is really not that great as compared with the commercial rice. Income will generate in time but farmers need cash asap. Hence it will reallt take time before you convince farmers to get involce with organic farming.

Don’t blame the LGU. Go to DA. Check the mandate routed to LGU. My advise. Do some research.

    my apologies typo error.

hi herbert, it’s sad that the owner of the MASKI signage was not able to defend himself about his business, bcoz he was not an educated one, i doubt it if he even understands what an internet is. However, to simply put an explanation to this, MASKI is the name of the repairman, a very decent young lad who’s making a living out of REPERing the above mentioned stuff. Pls. note that this post is quite upsetting.
