Devastated
Posted on September 28, 2009, 1:15 PM under Street StoriesI visited A. Ferrera street this morning and here’s what I saw. Until now, residents’ appliances are still outside as they clean their house for “banlik.”

Water in some areas are still knee-deep high.

Trash surrounded the sala.

As I write this, the dump truck of the municipal government is near our house to collect the mud. I had hoped, though, that the firetrucks followed to clean up the road.
Communication lines are still down and I have to use a mobile phone as a modem. As with posters had said, best bet is to take the Angono-Binangonan route in going to and from Baras. I myself has to go to the office in Quezon City this afternoon.

September 29th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
boss richard, long time no hear. first time din nangyari sa amin ‘to.

herbert, more power to you and thanks for all your effort in publishing pictures about baras after the flood. we in baras are still lucky compare to the other neighboring towns. i’ve seen a lot of pictures in tanaygeographic facebook and saw a lot of damages. i hope they can recover from this calamity. to the people of baras, let’s just help one another in the clean up process and try to move on.

I want to call the family but I don’t have their ph or e-mail.

Ipidala ninyo through western union, uniteller, or paypal. Time is of the essence.

Thanks for the pics. that you posted. At least I some peace of mind. Though we feel the heat of ondoy, we are still lucky that most of us are safe with less fatalities compare to tsunami causality in Asia. My prayers goes to all kababayans. We will overcome all of this ordeals with prayers and helping each other.
Ours deepest sympathy to Arcilla Family. Tia Sioning we will missed you. You’re like a mother to us.

To the family of ate Amor Canete Bautista:
I heard the difficulty during the funeral due to flooding. The palibing was done last Tuesday instead of Sunday.
We are with you in this hard time. Ate Amor was a great person. She was like a sister to me as she enlightened the hearts of many. I’m sure we will be able to cope with this difficult period.
May her soul rest in peace.
My heartfelt condolences also to the family of Tia Sioning: I am deeply grieved. Ninang Sioning was such a lovely woman. I often think about all the times we spent together and all the kindness, advices she gave me when I was growing up. She was such a pleasure to have around when I was there. She was my second Nanay. I have learned so much from her and will remember her always.
LET’S ALL PRAY THAT THE PEOPLE OF BARAS BE BLESSED AND SAFE ALWAYS….

October 2nd, 2009 at 9:23 am

Still scary coz with this another typhoon coming in they said Laguna de Bay might overflow and will affect alongside towns and flood will not subside until 3 months.

God help us Baraseno

I have not been watching much tv lately as I am a nurse working nights here in the US. My patient told me about the flood and I am worried for my family in Baras. Does anyone know if Ilaya Street was hit hard? I have not received any word from my Kuyas or other family in Baras.
