Fiesta once again

At least for Barangays San Juan and Santiago. The barangays were filled with banderitas. We cannot blame people from other towns from thinking that Baraseños may be too rich to celebrate fiestas three times a year, with a month in between: last Sunday of January, March 19 and May 1. I guess we are already settled on when the town feast is.
The Catholic church also lined up some activities for Saturday’s big event. Coincidentally, the municipal government will hold an “Organic Market” and Sikaran festival on the same day.

Fiesta once again (he he he !!!!) !!!
Well, it was clearly reiterated by the municipal officials, most particularly Mayor Robles that the Town Fiesta would remain on the last sunday of January. He categorically stated several times before said date that the fiesta would go on but without the usual merrymaking activities like: 1)HIRING 0F MUSIC BANDS, 2) “BANDERITAS”, 3) PARADES, and 4) AMATEUR SINGING CONTESTS. Imagine, how much the municipality had saved! Almost half a million, I would say. He even advised Barasenians to cut down on their usual elegant feasting, and not to force the issue of preparing food and inviting guests. Mayor knew the hardship people are going through these days, not only in Rizal, but in the whole archipelago. GRABE NA ANG HIRAP, MAGHAHANDA KA PA! The mayor was perfectly right and a lot of people were very thankful. You should have visited his house during the fiesta. I could see a humble 3 courses of Food, and a couple of Dessert. Ang tawag natin diyan, LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE !
Tapos, ngayon may mga banderitas na naman!! Ano ba yan!!! Yan Organic festival at Sikaran festival na yan, dapat sa May 01 na lang!!! Pakulo na naman ng iilan lang!!! Siguro, kaya tayo laging magulo sa Baras, yakap natin ang maling kultura ng SIPAAN, SIKUHAN, TUHURAN, SIKARAN !!! Siguro, kaya matawag na ORGAGO ang Organic Farming, dahil hindi umusad-usad!!!

The photos of the 2nd Fiesta of Baras showed exactly that Baras really had a second fiesta and please, we could not deny it. I go with you Florante!!! Sige, maski araw-araw fiesta, hindi pa rin kayang busugin ang mga gutom na sikmura ng maraming taga-Baras. Pero, pag tinanong mo ang taga- Tanay at Morong, sa kanilang punto, ” Talaga naman ang taga-Baras, mayayaman ayy!!Fiesta na naman!!!!” Sana maski ang gutom na sikmura, masayaran ng ORGANIKONG gulay. Kung talagang walang malamon, SIKARAN na lang!!! Hindi ka nag-iisa Florante!!!!

Thanks Martino for your insights. Alam mo ba na may 100k peso share ang munisipyo sa 2 festivals? Hindi naman daw nakita ng mga taga-Baras kung saan napunta. I could not comment on the statement of a guy who I could feel have so much concern on Baras. I didn’t bother to watch the festivals. I was sure madidismaya lang ako. Let’s remain watchdogs Martino! Kawawa naman mayor natin!! 7/24 na nga ang paglilingkod, kaya lang may mga tao sa paligid na talagang nakakasira. Thanks again Martino for your insights!!

English lahat ah.. Well, what i can say while resding your comments, you seemed to be missing something or getting the wrong point. there is relly no second fiesta. The real fiesta only happens whent we celebrate the feast of the towns patron saint. Which if you’re a real barasenian, is St. Joseph, husband of Mary, which dates on March 19. now its your choice to not celebrate if you think that our patron saint isn’t doing us enough help. But what i’m trying to stress here is the rael town fiesta. If you are really thankful that the municipality had saved that much money in not celebrating the Jan. fiesta, then think again where the money had gone??!! Why is it that our municipal hall doesn’t look like one. I can say that baras elementary school is far more better than our municipal hall. I didn’t intend to ruin neither baras’s image nor our mayor’s but if you dsaid na niyayakap natin ang maling tradisyon ng sikaran, sa tingin ko, mas mali naman ang magfiesta ng walang dahilan.

TALAGA FLORANTE 100K ANG SHARE NG MUNISIPYO SA FESTIVAL PERO ND ALM NG MGA TAGA BARAS KUNG SAN NAPUNTA????? hayan kc pbago bago ng fiesta kya ang mga tao nguguluhn!!!!!!! pti pondo ng fiesta nwala cno b nmn kc ang nag bago na2mn ng fiesta!!!! bgo k plang nki alm k n binago mo n agad ang fiesta ng baras na matagal ng na kaugalian ng mga taga baras!!!!!!!!!!!

Oist po… indi ka namn masyadong galit sa lagay na yan anoh ha.. kasi naman, ndi talaga pinalitan ang pyesta. mas magandang itawag doon ang itinama.. baka ba ipipilit mo ang isang na mali??? indi naman sa nakikipanig ako sa Desisyon nung sinasabi mong nagpalit na obvious nama na c Fr. ang sinasabihan mo. Kasi naman, wala naman talaang okasyon sa Last sunday of january. Alam na rin yan ng munisipyo at mukha namang hindi rin nila ma defend kung bakit sa Last wek of jan ang fiesta. kasi naman eh, baki lagikaung trapped sa traditions? be open Minded! ako ay nakikiayon kina florante at martino.kaawa na ang mayor natin.pero tandaan natin na kya may tinatawag na fiesta ito isang pgdiriwang pampamayanan na nagbibigay papuri sa patrong gumagabay at ito rin ang sumasalamin sa pagnanasa ng pamayanan na maging isang ganap at nagkakaisang naglalakbay kasama ang santong patron patungo sa kabuuan ng buhay.mabuhay si mayor willie at ang bayan ng baras.
