Barasenio or Baraseño?

What do you call the people of Baras, Rizal?
I’ve been contemplating on this ever since I started writing for this blog and the municipality’s newspaper. On print, I have used Barasenio. I thought that it leans towards the Filipino language. In this website however, I unconsciously used Barase√±o which looks Spanish because of the tilde, but sometimes I interchange the two terms. Just take a look at the category.
I have a limited knowledge on linguistics, so if anybody has any idea on the proper term to use to identify a person living in Baras, please share your ideas.

Barasenians really sounds like an American language. I tried my best to search the net to find the word or words but we’re unfortunate to find even one. My suggestion, sir: Use this blog as a mean to survey whether Barasenio or Barase√±o.
Anyway,good work sir, for blocking or holding foul or disgusting word from irresponsible repliers or commentator/s from this site.Thanks to you. More power.God bless you, sir.

Eversince I was a child, I always hear people call us Barasenians. With regards to Barasenio or Barase√±o, there is actually no difference with the two words except the way you spell it. They both soound the same therefore making them both sound like Spanish words. Come to think of it, most of our words came from Spanish language except we spell it the “Filipino” way. However, I don’t think it matters how we should address ourselves because a true Barasenio/Barase√±o/Barasenian is reflected not in words but in our hearts, how we love and care for our town, and how much we are willing to do for it to give our town a good image to others. By the way Herbert, it’s a good thing you decided to filter all the comments first before publishing it. They’re really not reflecting or giving the Barasenians a good image at all, specially the comments with regards to the G & BB Baras. I salute you for that. Keep up the good work! =D

“BARASENIAN” is I think more revealing of the unique and principled characteristics of the people of Baras.
In the analysis of the filipino language, most proper nouns ending in “nio” is biased to male individuals while nouns ending with “nia” is more associated with female.
Hence, using “Barasanian” to address the people of Baras [regardless of gender] will be more acceptable, sharper and eccentrically distinct in spirit anywhere else in the globe.

Barasenian talaga, ngayon ko nga lang narinig na barasenio, e, parang wala sa tono
