Where is Dindo’s portrait?

Posted on February 10, 2008, 11:20 AM under Political Spectrum

I am not pro-Dindo (Dionisio Donato Garciano), nor pro-Robles (Mayor Wilfredo Robles), but shouldn’t we give the former mayor a little respect by having his portrait in the municipal hall?

yup!! me should give a little more respect to the former mayor of Baras for his picture is not in the municipal hall. Please pay an urgent attention to this! I am not a pro-DIndo or whoever! i just want to have a fair treatment from the barasanian itself!

  2. shyne Says:

I am a pro- Dindo,, its rlly unethical and absolutely unfair 4 nt hving his portrait in the municipal hall..Every leader who served his town should have an image 2 b posted. BE FAIR!!

  3. Florante Laura Says:

The absence of the portrait is noticeable. But we can blame the building designer for there is not enough space for one more portrait. However, a huge space at the back of the hall will be a good location. Wow, imagine the portrait fronting the wide ricefields? I hope that’s a remedy and might be welcomed by the pro-dindo group.

  4. joseph Says:

BTW, the images of Mayor Robles and VM Pilapil are in the Sangguniang Bayan session Hall. Seems that even the current officials do not have a place in the new municipal hall.

  5. gelai Says:

did anyone happen to explain already as to why the said portrait not displayed? or is that simply ignored? just curious

  6. Kane Says:

i agree! mayor dindo has done a lot for baras! (baras pinugay road, etc.) the president GMA even went to baras three times during his term. I believe he should be given utmost respect.

  7. Martino Says:

Kane, when you said ex-mayor Dindo had done a lot for Baras…. uhmmmm. Well if his accomplishments (as you might say) were favorable to Barasenians, I think he deserved another term. But losing by a gigantic margin signified differently. Still, he became a mayor and I agree with you that his portrait must be placed in the Hall.

  8. Kane Says:

Your opinion is well taken,Martino. But elections is a numbers game. And with a town like Baras with a small voting population, a third candidate, who was a former supporter of mayor dindo will make a lot of difference. Sad to say, that accomplishments and performance is not always given weight in elections but numbers and money.

  9. Martino Says:

Point well taken Kane!! You mean that third candidate spoiled the guy’s re-election bid? I still have high hopes in my little town and I still believe in the Baras electorate. Huge majority still falls on the wise voters’ populace I’m sure!!! So, performance still is the main factor, not the GAME OF NUMBERS nor MONEY. Agree ?

  10. kane Says:

I admire your idealism Martino. PGMA would love you for that. I just really hope Mayor Dindo consider running again for Mayor, that would surely be a good rematch. And let’s see how the electorate reacts this time around. Better if it’s a one on one fight like when Dindo beat ferrera.

  11. Martino Says:

Ok Kane!! We wait for 2010. How would the rematch be tagged? Ala- Pacquiao/ Marquez or Pacquiao/Morales? Say….. “The Unfinished Business”? or “Thrilla in Baras”? or probably, “The Return of The Big Comeback”? Thanks again for your comments. Much power kabayan!!!

  12. kane Says:

Although not as festive as before, it was nice to watch the Tromba Festival yesterday. Since politics is always a subject matter in all gatherings in our town, I heard that Vice Mayor Pilapil is sure to run for Mayor. Wow! hope Mayor Dindo comes to know of this, as surely this will be a repeat of 2004, where his votes where eaten up by a third candidate. It’s getting exciting. I think we might be witnessing a DINDO comeback. Abangan!!!

  13. kane Says:

And this time Mayor Willy will be the one affected. As they say, History repeats itself, only this time it’s Mayor Willy’s turn to experience the discomfort of a candidate coming from his group to run against him.Exciting!!!

  14. kane Says:

NPC must think twice in fielding 2 candidates for mayor. That will surely hand the Mayorship to Mayor DINDO on a silver platter. Wow exciting!!!

  15. ligrev Says:

Let we see if that happens again but let we remind first what happened during the past 2 elections. 2004 robles-garciano-olano, even you give the vote of olano to garciano, they will still not overcome the winning margin of mayor robles. Also on 2007, vote of ferrera and ocampo not matched the vote of robles. Ferrera and robles are bothe NPC. It only shows the barasenians are satisfied with the performance of mayor robles and im one of that.

But if it Robles against Pilapil and Dindo, its hard to predict since there another person, elections in Baras will be more exciting, im looking forward to see this hehehehe.

    Mabuhay Barasenians……….

  16. joseph Says:

If ever Robles and Pilapil will split, I personally find it destructing, not exciting. From the statement of VM Pilapil himself, however, it seems that everything is smooth sailing. At least for now.

  17. Rogie Says:

Mukhang may malakas na usok sa kampo ng lakas.DINDO sa 2010, and Pagbabalik!

  18. fernan angeles Says:

i find it rather too early for rogie to be ventillating the 2010 election. no wonder progress in this part of rizal remains snail-paced. too bad for baras, too much politics has eaten up precious time which could have been spent on things that would have moved up baras. another thing, my staff tried to see the mayor of baras twice already but to no avail. the mayor wasn’t in his office — but that’s not the issue. nobody was there to receive documents from my office. sana mayor robles could do something about it. or perhaps ask his staff not to leave their post during office hours. the problem is that when mayor robles leaves for an official act outside his office, his staff leaves as well.

  19. kaywillie Says:

better think my fellow barasenians. at end of the race the town of baras shoul prevail as winner. stop the culture of hate but rather stand for what is right for the town. mabuhay ang baras!!!mabuhay si mayor willie

  20. Rollyben "BARTS" Bello Says:

  22. joseph Says:

just an addendum to aling tikday. I know at least 2 councilors who personally read and monitor the posts and comments in this website. For sure, this website is an avenue for Barasenios to air their criticisms and suggestions.

  23. baras Says:
