The sun rises in Wawa

Posted on March 27, 2009, 8:20 PM under Places to Visit

Still remember the post I made a year ago (Recreation and relaxation in Wawa, 3/11/2008)? I checked the place again two mornings ago and it seemed that the place has improved.

Sun trying to rise

Instead of a deteriorating “rest house,” what I saw was a multi-purpose building. Markers were already in place in preparation for a multi-million government project on flood control through the program Laguna de Bay Institutional Strengthening and Community Participation Project or Liscop. Officials has said that this will be similar to Tanay’s parola.

But even with the project not yet in place, Wawa is a good place to spend time with if you want to feel and see the sun rising. I saw babies in cradle trying to get their daily does of Vitamin D, or in Filipino, pinaaarawan. At 5:30 in the morning, I already saw some people brisk walking and exercising. A couple of minutes later, you’ll see the fishermen getting their catch, and farmers gazing their cows.

Dragon fly

Water lilies still surround the river. And since there are no more classes, students play with their bikes.

It’s interesting to note here that the road from the main street of JP Rizal, up to the former resthouse is concrete. You just have to be wary of the humps.

The beautiful panoramic and scenic view of the town that the Barasenian has to treasure for a lifetime.
