In the next few weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised if I see tarpaulins about some clans announcing their reunions. It’s election time again and it is the perfect opportunity to rekindle and reestablish the connection to the family members. Politics, after all, is addition.

Here’s a rundown of several mentions of “Baras, Rizal” in the Internet in the past couple of weeks.
If there’s one thing that is difficult to secure in the local government (at least in the Mayor’s office and the departments under it), it will be any document that has something to do with money. I was not allowed to get a copy of the Statement of Assets and Liabilities in the Human Resources Office, whereas I was allowed two years ago. The multi-million tax mapping computerization project is no different. The Office of the Mayor does not have any copy of the Memorandum of Agreement that the mayor signed. I have to ask other people where I could get the document. There are times that you will get a run-around.

As I have said in the past, I’m planning to interview some candidates in the upcoming May 10 elections. The interview will focus on their personal background and their plans for Baras. I already have some questions for them but as in the case of the survey, I’d like to get some feedback from the online community.

I tested this morning the supposed free wireless Internet access that the local government offers in the new municipal hall.
