NPC candidates ask for blessing

Posted on November 29, 2009, 3:23 PM under Government

I was the photographer of my niece’s baptism when I chanced upon some municipal officials being blessed by parish priest Romarico Hilario at the Saint Joseph church.

In attendance were Mayor Wilfredo Robles, councilors Jovita Cawicaan, Mario Mendoza, Emmanuel Ola√±o, Alfredo Ruba, former councilor Amado Golla and another unidentified man. According to a source, candidates of the National People’s Coalition where Robles and others belong, will file their certificate of candidacy tomorrow at 3 PM, while another party will attend a mass tomorrow morning at 6.

I have a question. To be a candidate of a political party, one MUST have the Certificate of Nomination from that party. Does this mean that Mayor Robles has the NPC nomination and NOT the PMP? If not, then I would like to correct the information given above. In the last elections, it was Edwin Ferrera who got the nomination of the NPC. I do not know why we fool ourselves by saying that Willy is NPC when he is clearly not.

Herbert, can you please acquire a copy of the COCs filed of all mayoral candidate and post the party that nominate them here, and lets stick to that information.
