COD for candidacy

Three hundred sixty four days from now, Barasenians will troop to their voting precincts to elect the new officials for the national and local posts. We will decide on our country’s future for the next six years.

Also by this time, politically inclined people may already be tinkering whether to run for office or not. Baras Rizal Online has its simple checklist, or I should say qualifiers for those who want to “serve” the people.

They should have COD.

Character.
Am I just running because that’s what my party says? Do I have a pure intent in serving the people? Do I have the minimum requirements set by the law to run for office?

Output
What have I proven before I plan to run for office? Have I been able to help the community in the past to improve their lives? What proof can I show to my detractors that I can really deliver?

Direction
If ever I get elected, on what direction will I bring this town to? What are the specific plan of actions, innovations, and changes that I will do when I’m elected? Are my policies sustainable given the meager budget?

COD is more popular to be the acronym of Cash On Delivery. Do I have the money to fund campaign sorties and election materials? Do I have the money to pay the so-called “election volunteers” ? And whether we like it or not, do I have the money to pay the voters?

I’ll go for COD, “Cash on Delivery”. Sunduin ang botante, deliver sa voting place at bayaran before casting the vote and after doing such, check ng watcher kung sumunod. That was the usual trend in our political arena. Ewan…

TAYONG MGA BOTANTE ANG MAKAKATULONG SA MGA KANDIDATO UPANG MAKAIWAS SA “TOO MUCH CASH INVOLVEMENT ON ELECTIONS.”
WHEN ONE OF MY RELATIVES RUN FOR OFFICE BEFORE, SOME PEOPLE CAME TO ASK FOR MONEY COZ IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY. DUH??? ISA LANG PO IYAN SA MARAMI PANG PANGHUHUTHOT NG BOTANTE SA MGA KANDIDATO. TINGNAN DIN NATIN ANG ATING MGA SARILI, WAG PURO SILA(PULITIKO) ANG ATING NAKIKITA.
