2nd Baras Organic Farming Festival
Posted on March 18, 2009, 1:35 PM under GovernmentFor the second time, the Municipality of Baras, together with the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, Department of Education and other local government units organized the Organic Farming Festival which opened today at Saint Joseph Parish church.

Organically grown produce like star apple, bitter groud, radish, tomatoes and papaya are sold by the participants. Seedlings for oregano, pechay, and different variants of pepper are available. Longganisa, sampaloc, pumpkin pie, achara, chicharon and other products are sold by teachers who are part of the Alternative Learning System implemented in different barangays. Lambanog and honeys (from honey bee of course) and herbal soaps are also sold. Buko juice and gulaman freshen are available for a very cheap price. Read the article for last year’s activities.
Parish priest Romarico Hilario spotted to have purchased several food items.

Here are the some of photos:

Mangga with alamang.

Uy, close.

This is totally unrelated but I just want to share this photo of the Santo Sepulkro I took before I went home. It’s the Lenten season anyway. Do you see the bride and the groom?

So if you’re not doing anything, or if you’re not watching Marian Rivera, et. al. whom I heard to be shooting her soap every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you might want to visit the Organic Farming Festival.

Ohhhh Baras…. I miss you. Love those fruits( mangga, santol, atis, siniguelas, duhat, kasoy, kayomito, at marami pang iba)- sawa na ako sa apple, grapes and oranges.
-Thanks for the pictures Herbert, you made my day at work – “nangasim ang bibig ko – tulo laway”. I appreciate what you doing on this website. It gives me more motivation and be proud of our town.

Hi, Um, can I ask for the address, and if possible, yung telephone number ng sinasabing healing house sa baras, rizal? I’ve been searching for it the whole morning but to no avail. IT’s really important that I get hold of that info. Salamat.
