Malalim Elementary School is on top … of the mountain
Posted on September 16, 2008, 6:19 PM under EducationUntil yesterday, I did not know that Malalim Elementary School is already situated on top of the mountain, beside Baras National High School in Sitio Malalim. When I was still studying in BNHS, MES was in the center of the this government housing project.

Marites Iba√±ez, the acting Schools Division Superintendent (replacing Edith Doblada) paid the school a visit yesterday. She was in Baras to attend the 2008 Division Quiz Bee in Association of Southeast Asian nations, Population Education and Rizal’s Life, Works and Writings which BNHS hosted. She was joined by Loida Jarin, who has been the school principal for five years now, Reynante Flandez, principal of Teresa National High School and a former head of BNHS, and high school teacher Flerida Velgado.

The walk to MES is very tiring. Due to rains in the past few days, the soil is muddy but manageable. Your footwear will not stick to the mud. Talahib grows on the pathway. But the view, once you’ve reached the school is breathtaking. Here you can see some portions of Laguna Lake, LaFarge Cement in Teresa, parts of Binangonan and of course, the mountains surrounding Sitio Malalim.¬†

The building is what they call Principal Type. The land size is one hectare.

i’d like to see more health center in baras too.
i hope the municipality has enough budget for that cause. i don’t want to see baras like what happened in talim island, cardona rizal. it’s sad when i watched that story on tfc here in u.s.

can someone publish a photo of anything improvement on regards to public health center. i’ve heard already enough about gym, school, etc. but i think it is also a priority to have a good health center in baras like the one that is happening in magallanes, cavite.
i’m looking forward to see baras as one of the best town in rizal even we are just a small place.
i’m proud for all the officials who are really trying hard to improve the community. “go barasenians”
