Going back to Baras Elementary School
Posted on April 7, 2009, 11:45 PM under EducationLast week, I attended a cousin’s graduation in Baras Elementary School. That was the last time I attended a graduation since I finished my elementary education more than a decade ago.
Aside from new buildings and stage, nothing much has changed. When I was in Grade Six, I was the “runner” of the principal, the guidance councelor or my adviser. Whenever these people need to consult all the teachers, I will go around the campus with a notebook containing the “memo.” I need to knock into more than 30 classrooms and have them read whatever it is that the principal or my adviser wants them to know. A dozen years after, I still see and remember my teachers.
My teacher in Grade One was Adelaida Anduque; Grade Two was Teresita Pilapil, Erlinda Dungca in Grade Three, Sylvia Ocampo in Grade Four, Clarita Casta√±eda in Grade Five and Wilhelmina San Diego in Grade Six. Mrs. San Diego didn’t last long because she migrated to the US, so she was replaced by Belinda Cawicaan who was also my Science teacher in Grade Five.

The former DLRC was replaced by a Ynares building. The Bahay Kastila, which during my time served as the clinic was already demolished. Another building is being constructed. Good thing they did not cut down the acacia trees near the canteen. It has become our tambayan when we were in Grade Five.
Back then, there was Morong-Baras District. Now, we have our own district comprised of different public and private schools.

Now I’m in abroad for over 20 years, I still want to comeback there and feel home for good.
I love you Baras Elem. School & SJHS !!
MABUHAY KAYO !

Hello Best Bread:
Musta na rin kayo diyang lahat? I am really very thankful that Dea told me about BRO, At least I am always informed about what’s going on our beloved town.

its good to note that our beloved alma mater has evolved from obscurity to now that is well known.
I am just wondering, what happened to the alumni homecoming the last time it was held.
di na yata nasundan iyon.sayang pa naman maganda reception ng mga alumni noon.what happened to the funds generated by that affair.
