Here’s a rundown of several mentions of “Baras, Rizal” in the Internet in the past couple of weeks.
First is a Facebook account. The account has a photo of the Saint Joseph parish church facade. As of this writing, it has 209 fans. It periodically features articles that were published in Baras Rizal Online (which is a good thing). But it also has some messages from candidates running in the municipal and provincial posts. If you are a Barasenian and happens to be a fan of its FB site, you may want to answer the question posted here.
Speaking of the church, a couple got wed last January 2 in the church and their pictures were uploaded in Flickr. The Andrada-Esguerra wedding can be seen through this link.
Another photo of the church appeared in the “Quezon-Laguna-Rizal joyride” post in a blog.
Metro waste unwelcome in Morong sanitary landfill
Published in Manila Standard Today this January 12, the article said that there is a plan for Morong to host solid wate from Metro Manila. This landfill is currently used only by Morong, Teresa, Baras and Cardona.
Punta de Fabian was cited in different websites. According to Business World, a CyberPress seminar was held in PDF December last year. CyberPress members write for the country’s top newspapers and IT publications. A reunion of a clan was also held last year.
In another story, Baras police arrested a suspected murderer in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

that bagong baras is a fan page of the candidates of liberal party for baras. if you guys remember the thread for official candidates list, a lot of comments asked for photos and info about the candidates. that is why im sharing you this link: wwwdotfacebookdotcomslashbagongbaras (i hope you know what to do with this egghead)

muka naman tayo kawawa kasi d malaman kung may pista o wala. naging dahilan na lang si ondoy. bakit ang tanay may pista kahit na mas grabe pa ang nangyari sa kanila. dahil gusto nila ipakita na nakabangon na sila sa trahedya at panibagong simula na ang kanilang hinaharap. dito yata satin e ayaw bumangon.gsto yata e lagi bibigyan.ayaw yata gumastos mukang may pinaghahandaan. obserbasyon ko lng po. mabuhay po tayong mga taga baras!!!!

last week of january – fiesta un ng bayan ng baras
may 19 – fiesta un ng patrong San Jose
may 1 – tromba festival, kala kc nila si San Jose na patron ng baras eh manggagawa.. ang totoo nyan..
ang patron natin ay si San Jose na asawa ni Maria…

cguro nga… nakasanayan na ng mga taga baras un,,, na ang fiesta ay january kasunod ng fiesta ng tanay at b4 fiesta ng morong… kung ano ang napagkasunduan ng simbahan at gobyerno.. den be it. at sana tuloy tuloy na kung kaylan man un. para di nalilito ang mga tao!!magabo man kung cno ang nakaupo!!
