In 1995, 72.62% of Baras total population falls within the age bracket of 10 years and over. It is estimated that 37.12% are legally married, 31.57% are single while the widowed, separated/divorced and common-law/live-in types represents 2.75%, 0.52% and 0.53% respectively.

Density
The gross density of Baras had grown from 1.99 persons per hectare in 1990 to 2.36 person per hectare in 1995. In the year 2000 census, the official gross density increased to 2.89 persons per hectare. The density per barangay for 1990 and 1995 are shown below. Barangay Evangelista and Mabini continued to dominate as the barangays with highest population density.
The urban area is basically concentrated in the poblacion and some residential areas in the mountainous part of the municipality. The urban density increased from 60.53 persons per hectare in 1990 to 71.94 persons per hectare in 1995. In year 2000, it is estimated to be at 87.99 persons per hectare. The urban density increases to 109.98 and 136.47 persons per hectare in years 2005 and 2010 respectively.
In general, the concentration of the population is in the urban lowland area or in the poblacion. The middle land is sparsely populated except for residential areas just above the Manila East Road (MER) and some sitios. The residential area above MER is basically part of the poblacion. The sitios in the middle land basically are few concentrations of residential houses. The upper and lower upland contributed about 21.65% of the total population. However, the area has a very low density.
