Come June 2008, we will release Baras Balita newspaper edition. The long delayed newspaper will cover events and issues in the past year. Aside from the municipal projects, we would like to publish articles that will promote Baras, inspire its people, and in essence, live up the Barasenian spirit.
Season of Lent just passed and it’s summer again. Expect a lot of solicitation letters from the youth living in your barangay for their “paliga.”

For the second time, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency confiscated a billion peso worth of chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as “shabu.” The raid was done in Sitio Gugu in Barangay San Jose. Read the rest of this entry »

As you passes by Baras this week, you would think that it’s fiesta, again. At least for Barangays San Juan and Santiago. The barangays were filled with banderitas. We cannot blame people from other towns from thinking that Baraseños may be too rich to celebrate fiestas three times a year, with a month in between: last Sunday of January, March 19 and May 1.
